Assistance for NYC businesses
Assistance for NYC businesses
NYC has issued the news blast below, which may assist you during this time.
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on March 8 that the City will provide relief for small businesses across the City seeing a reduction in revenue because of COVID-19. Businesses with fewer than 100 employees who have seen sales decreases of 25% or more will be eligible for zero interest loans of up to $75,000 to help mitigate losses in profit.
The City is also offering small businesses with fewer than 5 employees a grant to cover 40% of payroll costs for two months to help retain employees. Eligible owners who would like to learn more about these programs should fill out our

IRS defers 2020 tax payments by 90 days
The IRS has yet to extend the deadline to file your taxes. During a press conference today, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced “If you owe a payment to the IRS, you can defer up to $1 million as an individual — and the reason why we are doing $1 million is because that covers lots of pass-throughs and small businesses — and $10 million to corporations, interest-free and penalty-free for 90 days. All you have to do is file your taxes, you’ll automatically not get charged interest and penalties,” Mnuchin said. He also said, “We encourage those Americans who can file their taxes to continue to file their taxes” by the normal tax filing deadline.
Reading above, we must wait for some guidance and regulations from the IRS. We hope that we will have some clarity soon.
